Hole in the walls are the best. I haven't had Cuban food in some time and found this location on my way to San Diego with my friends. Service was great and the food was to my taste authentic in what I've experienced Cuban food in other locations. Delicious, hearty and my stomach was very satisfied. I ordered the Cuban plate which consisted of Ropa Vija, Lechon, Grilled Chicken with Rice and Beans. Beans were very nice and the Lechon (shredded pork) had great flavor. The chicken wasn't dry and the Ropa Vija (shredded beef) had great seasoning.
Definitely recommend coming here as a pit stop for lunch or even dinner. I need to try the sandwich and steak plate next time. -

The Cuban Hut is a counter service restaurant. It seems family owned. The lady serving us was really nice. I had the veggie plate and I forgot what my daughter had but it must have been really good because she ate all her food fast. I enjoyed the veggie plate. The prices are cheap and the food is good. Next time I want to try their Cuban sandwiches. We will be back! I forgot, free empanada with check in people!

Super yummy and plentiful. The prices were amazingly low and the customer service fantastic! Cuban sandwich was melt in your mouth delicious and empanadas were very flavorful especially the beef!

So, this isn't my favorite Cuban spot in town, but it's great if you absolutely need Cuban food ASAP.
I walked in around 2 p.m. one day and the place was completely dead. I ordered La bandera, because like, come on. I also ordered maduros and two empanadas and paid around $18-$20.
The empanadas were and puffy with minimal contents. Pet peeve. La bandera was really, really flavorful, but I couldn't help but feel like the portion was significantly smaller than what I'd seen in photos. The maduros were good, but those are hard to mess up.
I loved the decor inside, it definitely reminded me of some of the Cuban spots back home. Additionally, the only employee working (who I believe may be the owner) was very, very kind and spoke to me in Spanish like I was his little nieta. -

Though the food is good, the food portions were very small for what we paid for. We ordered take-out recently and didn't even receive a full cup of rice in either of our dinner plates, along with very little meat toppings. We also only received 1 piece of plantanos in our plates. We were still very hungry after eating our dinner.
